With the onslaught of snowfall this season, the term snowmageddon has become commonplace. Since the first snowfall in 2017’s season until the recent storm just yesterday, more than three feet of snow has fallen in some parts of the US. Snowfall is Breaking Records
Here in Alabama, we have seen snowfall to the level of shutting down our town. From school closures to no milk in the stores. Being from northern Indiana, the snow here is not too overwhelming. I will admit, that at first, I found this funny. Until I realized that We have no counter-measures for snow and ice here.
What does this mean for travel? I will tell you this means delays and cancelations. So what happens now? AirHelp, the world’s leading flight compensation and air passenger rights company, is revolutionizing the way that air travelers can get compensated by the airlines for flight disruptions with the launch of their newest feature. I learned of this new feature this morning and was amazed to find how well it works.
The last time my flight was canceled was during the power outage in Atalanta. This would have come in handy big time. Airhelp has made this new tool available on their website (available in a mobile format as well) which you can find here. This new feature will allow you to map out everything about your journey and will show you possible compensation for up to three years back. I played around with it a bit this morning after the release and saw some things I would have never known about before this.
How Can This Help
Not only will you get fast notifications of eligibility but compensation is fast too. With a new data visualization feature that you can customize and share map on Facebook and Twitter, it is also fun. These new features will analyze past data from your trips and find things you may have missed. Once you are all signed in, new bookings are automatically saved with a wonderful map and it helps keep track of spending too. Some of the features are super cute too. Like it will tell you how many times you have been to the moon and back.
With all the snowfall this year and the storms earlier in 2017, so many flights were delayed or canceled outright. Trust me this is no fun. Especially if you feel like you have nowhere to turn for help with all the money lost. I have mentioned the importance of travel insurance on a couple of occasions and I still highly recommend it. However, with all these new features, this may be my new favorite app and I wanted to share this with you all.
You can find the new tool can here and remember it is FREE to use!
