Currently, I live in Alabama, but for 34 years Indiana was home. Back in August, we had a chance to go up for the annual family reunion.
This journey started way back in February when I booked the plane tickets. I learned that it is nearly five times less expensive to drive to Atlanta and fly up to Chicago.
I usually use Kayak.com to book my flights, hotels and rental car and this was no different. I enjoy how easy there site is to navigate.
One of the best parts was seeing my son. He still lives in Indiana and I don’t see him as often as I would like. So even though the reunion was for a few hours of my weekend, I spent as much time with him as I could.
I love this photo but it is a sad reminder. These are my mom’s siblings (my aunts and uncle) and this group seems to get smaller each year. The food is always amazing when these folks are involved. We do our reunion as a potluck type gathering, everyone makes and brings something.
And what gathering of family would be complete without a fire? I know we never forget this crucial bit of fun.
